Leila Rásonyi was awarded a special golden medal at the Jacques Thibaud Violin Competition in Paris and was also a prize-winner at the Vienna International Violin Competition. She has taught at the Liszt Academy since 1989 and is well known as a soloist. She has recorded for Hungaroton and has broadcast on many occasions. In 1991 she received a Soros Fellowship and the following year founded the Lajtha Quartet. She plays a Giuseppe Testore violin of 1715.
