Kirsten Sturm was born in Villingen in 1978, and studied the organ with Martin Lücker at the University for Music and Performing Arts in Frankfurt am Main. She subsequently moved to Saarbrücken to pursue further organ studies with Wolfgang Rübsam. She has participated in masterclasses with Michael Radulescu (Vienna), Daniel Roth (Paris), Jean Guillou (Paris), Olivier Latry (Paris) and Heinz Wunderlich (Hamburg), and has won prizes in various organ competitions including first prize in the Hermann Schroeder Competiton in 1999. Kirsten Sturm was organist at the Holy Family Roman Catholic Church in Frankfurt from 2006 to 2010. She was artist director of the concert series for organ and chamber music recitals there and supervised an organ class at the Institute of Church Music in Mainz. Since 2010 she has taught at the University for Ecclesiastical Music in Rottenburg. As a solo recitalist, pianist and chamber musician she appears in concerts in Germany and abroad.
