Karl-Ernst Schroder (d2003)


Karl-Ernst Schröder studied guitar and lute with Tadashi Sasaki at the Aachen Musikhochschule, continuing his training at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis. His career has brought collaboration with ensembles that include Mala Punica, Dolcissimo Sospiro, the Basel Consort, I Sonatori gelosi and Ensemble 415, with concerts and recitals throughout Europe, in Israel and in the Americas, as well as broadcasts, television appearances and recordings. His particular interest lies in duo recitals, which have brought collaboration with the singers Andreas Scholl, Martin Hummel and Maria Cristina Kiehr, with the lutenists Robert Barto and Crawford Young, and with the harpsichordist Alexander Weimann. His activities include master classes, lectures and publications.
