Juan Carlos Rodriguez

Born in Cádiz, Juan Carlos Rodríguez is regarded as one of the leading musicians of his generation. He studied the piano with Pilar Bilbao, a pupil of the great Chilean pianist Claudio Arrau, and also received valuable advices from eminent international musicians, including Hans Graf, Brétislav Novotny, Edith Fischer and Solomon Mikowsky. He appears in recital in major concert halls in Spain, Portugal, France, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Japan and has recorded for Spanish National Radio, Catalunya Música and Radio Suisse Romande, winning particular praise for his interpretation of Berg’s Piano Sonata, Op 1. He has performed at leading international music festivals in Spain and abroad and as a soloist has collaborated with chamber groups and orchestras. Recently he has made his début in Japan with a great success, including performances at Toppan Hall in Tokyo, The Phoenix Hall in Osaka and Denki Bunka Kaikan in Nagoya. Future engagements for the next season include piano recitals and collaborations with orchestras and chamber music ensembles through Europe, America and Asia. Next recording releases include the complete piano works by Manuel de Falla, and a selection of piano works by Clementi. Winner of many awards in national and international piano contests, his wide repertoire covers many styles, from the baroque to the contemporary.
