Jean-Louis Serre, baritone

A pupil of Jane Berbié, Jean-Louis Serre studied at the Conservatoire National Superieur in Paris, where he won a chamber music prize. He now works with such leading French ensembles as Les Musiciens du Louvre and La Grande Ecurie et la Chambre du Roy and has appeared at prestigious venues throughout Europe, including the Theatre du Chatelet in Paris and the Edinburgh Festival. Jean-Louis Serre's operatic roles range from Papageno in Die Zauberflöte to Jahel in Le Roi d'Ys, and he has made a number of recordings, including Mouret's opera Les Amours de Ragonde and motets by César Franck.
