Under the guidance of her mother, the cellist Vinera Kulikova, Irina Kulikova started developing her musical gifts from the earliest age. At twelve she was already travelling around Russia and abroad for gala concerts and festivals, and by the age of fourteen, was included in Maurice J. Summerfield’s The Classical Guitar, its evolution, players and personalities since 1800. Today she performs throughout Europe, Russia and America, with appearances in major concert halls, including the Amsterdam Concertgebouw, the Tchaikovsky Hall in Moscow and the Schloss Mirabel in Salzburg. She has been a guest at leading international festivals, and her numerous awards include first prizes at the international guitar competitions of Michele Pittaluga in Italy, Guitarra Alhambra in Spain, Forum Gitarre Wien in Austria and Iserlohn in Germany. Irina Kulikova graduated with distinction at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg (Austria), the Gnesin Academy in Moscow (Russia) and the Conservatoire of Maastricht (the Netherlands).
