Born in Japan in 1968, Hidéki Nagano took part, from the age of twelve, in a number of national competitions and won several first prizes for students. In 1988 he entered the Paris Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique, where he was a piano pupil of Jean-Claude Pennetier and studied accompaniment with Anne Grappotte. He won first prize in accompaniment in 1990, in piano in 1991 and in chamber music in 1992. He took part and won awards in a number of competitions, including the Barcelona Maria Canals (1990), and Montréal (1992), taking the Prix Samson François in 1994, the Prix Muramatsu and the Prix Idemitsu in 1998. In 1996, he became a member of the Ensemble Intercontemporain of Paris. Hidéki Nagano appears regularly in France and abroad as a soloist and in chamber music, with a repertoire ranging from classical to contemporary. He has recorded for Fontec in Japan and Pianovox in Paris.
