Greg Morris

Greg Morris is Associate Organist of the Temple Church in London, a position which he has held since 2006. He accompanies the acclaimed Temple Church Choir, and has appeared with them on broadcasts and commercial recordings. He takes a major rôle in the training of the choristers, and regularly conducts the choir, including a term as Acting Director of Music. As an organ recitalist, he performs at major venues throughout Britain and the rest of Europe. His repertoire includes music from across the last five centuries, and he has a particular interest in the works of Bach and twentieth-century French and English music. In 2005 he gave the world première of David Briggs’s Organ Concerto, which he also recorded with the Northern Chamber Orchestra. His first solo recording, Sounds Inspirational, received widespread critical acclaim.

Born and educated in Manchester, Greg Morris held organ scholarships at St George’s Chapel Windsor, Jesus College Cambridge and St Martin-in-the-Fields, London. He was awarded the Fellowship of the Royal College of Organists in 2000, winning all the major performance prizes and the Silver Medal of the Worshipful Company of Musicians. During his time as Assistant Director of Music at Blackburn Cathedral, he accompanied the Cathedral Choirs in a series of recordings, tours and broadcasts and was also a regular organist on the BBC’s Daily Service.
