Elizabeth Farr specialises in the performance of keyboard music of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. She has performed solo harpsichord, organ and pedal harpsichord recitals to critical acclaim in the United States and Germany, and her performances as a collaborative artist and concerto soloist have also earned high praise. Previous recordings for Naxos by Elizabeth Farr of Elisabeth-Claude Jacquet de La Guerre’s Suites for harpsichord and Johann Sebastian Bach’s Music for Lute-Harpsichord were each awarded the German Record Critics’ prize. Her recording of Peter Philips’ harpsichord works features the Italian harpsichord built by Jerome de Zentis in 1658. Her recording of William Byrd’s My Ladye Nevells Booke was named recording of the issue by The Absolute Sound (USA) and received the Supersonic award from Pizzicato (Luxembourg). Her recording of Jean-Henri D’Anglebert’s Suites for harpsichord was released in 2008, followed by Johann Sebastian Bach’s Concertos for Solo Harpsichord in 2009.
