Eliseo Castrignano


Eliseo Castrignanò was born in Lecce and studied the piano at the Roberto Cappello School with Benedetto Lupo, Aldo Ciccolini and Charles Rosen, continuing with conducting studies with teachers including Fabrizio Dorsi, Bruno Aprea and Nicola Samale. He attended special courses at the Fondazione I Pomeriggi Musicali in Milan and was later a student of Jorma Panula at the Fiesole Scuola di Musica. He obtained his master’s degree at the Umberto Giordano Conservatory, where he was honoured as best student of his year. He has conducted the Tito Schipa Symphony Orchestra in Lecce, the Danish Radio Symphony Orchestra in Copenhagen and the Kiev Theatre Symphony Orchestra. In 2006 he founded the GB Sammartini Youth Orchestra. As a choral conductor he has worked with theatres in Lecce and in China. For ROSSINI IN WILDBAD he undertook a guest engagement in 2010 in Generali’s Adelina and in 2011 in Balducci’s La noce di Benevento.
