Dean Anthony

Creating over eighty rôles, the tenor Dean Anthony has been praised for his vocal, dramatic, physical, and acrobatic abilities. Often referred to as “The Tumbling Tenor”, he made his début with the Theater im Pfalzbau in Ludwigshafen, Germany and Theater des Westens in Berlin as Sam Kaplin and Daniel Buchanan in the acclaimed production of Weill’s Street Scene, televised worldwide. In particular demand for Puck in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Little Bat in Susannah, Pong in Turandot, Bardolfo in Falstaff, Beppe in Pagliacci, Pedrillo in Die Entführung aus dem Serail, Sancho in Man of La Mancha, Monostatos in Die Zauberflöte, Goro in Madama Butterfly, and the Servants in Les contes d’Hoffmann, he has appeared with l’Opéra de Montréal, San Francisco Opera, Vancouver Opera, New York City Opera, Baltimore Opera, Florentine Opera, New Orleans Opera, Arizona Opera and Michigan Opera Theater. As a stage director he has directed productions with Tampa Bay Opera, Augusta Opera, University of Minnesota in Duluth and Brevard Music Center.
