Well known as a recitalist throughout Britain, the organist Darius Battiwalla has won success in a number of important organ competitions. He has performed with the BBC Philharmonic and Hallé Orchestras and teaches the organ at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester. He began his training in London and was Organ Scholar at Leeds University, graduating there with distinction to study further at the Royal Northern College, with similar results, while serving as Organ Scholar at Manchester Cathedral. He is chorus-master to the Sheffield Philharmonic Chorus and accompanist and assistant chorus-master to the Halifax Choral Society.
