Thomas Ford (d.1648)
Thomas Ford was a musician in the service of Prince Henry and after the latters death to the future Charles I until the civil war of 1642. At the time of his death in 1648 he was employed as a composer and as a viol-player in the royal service. His compositions include songs, sacred and secular part songs, and instrumental music, the latter in particular for the lyra viol and for instrumental consort.
