After completing his studies at the Conservatorio di Santa Cecilia in Rome, Carlo Putelli undertook further training at the Salzburg Mozarteum, where he was able to study German vocal repertoire with Wilma Lipp, Rudolph Knoll and Iris Adami Corradetti. His career as a soloist has brought appearances under conductors including Wolfgang Sawallisch, Christian Thielemann, Yuri Temirkanov, Daniele Gatti, Francesco La Vecchia, Norbert Balatsh, Alessandro De Marchi, Myung-Whun Chung, Gerd Albrecht, Claudio Abbado and Antonio Pappano. His operatic rôles have included Paolino in Il matrimonio segreto at Treviso, Count Almaviva in Il barbiere di Siviglia and Tamino in Die Zauberflöte in Rome, Bologna and Milan, Fenton in Falstaff in a RAI-Radio3 production, and Alfredo in La traviata for RAISat International. He made his début as the Evangelist and tenor soloist in Bach’s St John Passion in Milan in 2008 and collaborated in Alessandro Scarlatti’s Oratorio La Santissima Annunziata under Fabio Bondi at the Utrecht Early Music Festival.
