Byron Schenkman, harpsichord
Byron Schenkman performs internationally as a harpsichordist and fortepianist in concert with violinist Ingrid Matthews and with the ensembles Zephyrus, Musics Re-creation, and La Luna. He has appeared as soloist with Genessee Baroque Players, the Los Angeles Baroque Orchestra, and the Seattle Baroque Orchestra, for which he is artistic director. Byron Schenkman studied with John Gibbons at the New England Conservatory and with Elisabeth Wright at Indiana University where he received the Willi Apel Award and the Master of Music degree with Honors in Performance. In 1991 he was a finalist in the International Mozart Competition at the Boston Early Music Festival. He has recorded for NPR and CBC Radio, Focus, Titanic, and Wildboar.
