Born in 1964, the German organist Bernard Haas has been a prizewinner in a number of international organ competitions, including the Bach Competition at Wiesbaden and the Liszt Competition in Budapest. From 1989 to 1995 he taught the organ and improvisation at the Saarbrücken Academy of Music, before taking up, in 1994, his position as Professor of Organ at the Stuttgart Academy. His career as a performer has taken him to nearly all European countries, to the United States of America and to Japan, while his recordings include releases of music by Liszt and by Stravinsky.
