Trained at the Paris Ecole d’Art Lyrique de l’Opéra Béatrice Uria-Monzon was engaged very soon for Aix-en-Provence in The Love for Three Oranges under Kent Nagano. After appearances as Cherubino and Mignon, she moved to more dramatic rôles, Marie de l’Incarnation (Dialogues des Carmélites), Charlotte (Werther), Béatrice (Béatrice et Bénédicte), Marguerite (La Damnation de Faust), the title rôle in Carmen, Princess Eboli (Don Carlo), and Léonore (La Favorite). Her career has brought appearances throughout France in leading opera houses and with major orchestras, and has included engagements at the Teatro Colón, the Verona Arena, San Francisco Opera, the Metropolitan Opera in New York, and the Vienna State Opera. With the Orchestre National de Lille she has recorded the rôle of Charlotte.
