Update me on new releases by Lee

Anna Ji Eun Lee

Violinist Anna Lee, whose playing has been described by David Dubal as the “emergence of a Korean Gypsy”, started playing violin at the age of 4. Before she reached the age of 6, she emerged as a vivacious prodigy—performing one of the most difficult concertos, Paganini’s Violin Concerto No. 1, with the Singapore Symphony Orchestra. Since then, she has been featured in many concerto appearances, including performances of Mendelssohn’s Concerto in E minor with the Braddell Heights Symphony Orchestra, Shostakovich’s Violin Concerto No. 1 with the Aspen Music Festival, Bruch’s G minor concerto with the Juilliard Pre-College Orchestra, as well as appearances with the Long Island Philharmonic, the Montgomery Symphony Orchestra, the Prime Philharmonic Orchestra and the Singapore Symphony.

She has won many competitions and prizes for her brilliant performances, including the AACA (American Academy of Conducting at Aspen) Competition at the Aspen Music Festival, the Long Island Philharmonic Competition, the Juilliard School Pre-College Division’s concerto competition, the Blount-Slawson Young Artists Competition and first prize in the New York Music Competition, which resulted in a performance as part of the Winner’s Recital at Carnegie Weill Recital Hall.
