Jean-Baptiste Robin (b1976)

Born in 1976, Jean-Baptiste Robin studied at the Paris Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique, where he was awarded five unanimous first prizes, with teachers including  Marie-Claire Alain, Olivier Latry, Louis Robilliard, Jean-François Zygel and Marc-André Dalbavie, followed by composition lessons with George Benjamin at King’s College in London. His twenty or more compositions represent commissions from Radio France, the Ensemble Intercontemporain, the Philharmonia Orchestra and the Orchestre National de Lyon. He is a laureate of the Académie des Beaux-Arts (Institut de France), winner of the SACEM George Enesco Composition Prize and first laureate of the musician scholarship of the Fondation Lagardère. He took the Grand Prix of the city of Bordeaux and the audience prize of the Dom Bedos International Composition Competition and the Roubaix Prix François.
