Thomas Stacy


Thomas Stacy is currently English Hornist with the New York Philharmonic. He has performed as soloist with the orchestra more than 65 times, with conductors, Leonard Bernstein, Pierre Boulez, Sir Colin Davis, Andre Previn, Erich Leinsdorf, Zubin Mehta, Michael Tilson Thomas, Sir Neville Mariner, Franz Welser-Most, Marin Alsop, Kurt Masur Alan Gilbert, Bramwell Tovey and David Robertson. This season he will perform the Concerto for English Horn, a work written for him, by Peteris Vasks, in Riga, Latvia

Millions have viewed his television appearances, as soloist twice on Live from Lincoln Center, three appearances on CBS This Morning, his profile on CBS Sunday Morning, and recently as a guest soloist with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir on Music and the Spoken Word.

Mr. Stacy has performed prmieres of more than 25 works which have been written especially for him. His Carnegie Hall debut was performing one such work, the Concerto for for English Horn by Stanislaw Skrowaczewski.

Guest appearances abroad include those in England, Sweden, Korea, Japan, Ireland, Germany, Switzerland, Scotland, Denmark, Venezuela and Canada. He has performed in almost every state in the U.S.

Mr. Stacy is the most recorded English Hornist in the world. In 2005 he received a Grammy nomination for his recording of Kenneth Fuch's EVENTIDE-Concerto for English Horn, with the London Symphony Orchestra on the Naxos Label.
