Sharon Coste, soprano
The soprano Sharon Coste studied at the University of Alberta in her native Canada, before making her home in France. Awards in Canada were followed by further prizes and awards in competitions in Geneva, Bilbao and Toulouse, among others, while the 1985 Johann Strauss Prize allowed her to undertake further study at the Salzburg Mozarteum. She enjoys a busy career in opera in Europe and North America, with roles ranging from Mimi and Violetta to Mère Lidoline in Poulenc's Dialogue des Carmélites. In the concert-hall her repertoire has included a varied repertoire from Handel oratorio to Mozart and to music by composers of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries.
