Stefan Frank, organ

Born in 1974 the German organist Stefan Frank studied with Martha Schuster and Edgar Krapp at the Munich Music and Theatre Hochschule, where he received the masterclass diploma summa cum laude, benefiting also from the guidance of Wolfgang Rubsam, Marie-Claire Alain, as he embarked on an international career as an organ recitalist. Stefan Frank has been invited to play at important festivals in Europe and America, at the cathedrals of Passau, Budapest, the Madeleine in Paris, New York City and the Buenos Aires Organ Festival, and elsewhere. He has won several distinctions and prizes, including first prize at the 1994 Jugend musiziert competition, in 1998 the Straubing Culture Promotion Award, and in 2000 the Munich Wolf-Memorial-Award and the Felix-Mottl-Promotion-Award. He was a member of Yehudi Menuhin's Live Music Now and is artistic director of the international concert series at the Pilgrimage Church at Bogenberg, in Bavaria. His harpsichord engagements include appearances with the Munich Symphony Orchestra. Together with his wife Kathinka Frank he founded the organ duo Ensemble 4 Feet.

His recordings have won critical favour in the press.
