Mark Steinberg


Mark Steinberg is an active chamber musician and recitalist and is the first violinist in the Brentano String Quartet. Solo appearances include performances with the London Philharmonia and the Los Angeles Philharmonic. He has performed and recorded with the Guild of Composers, the Da Capo Chamber Players and Speculum Musicae, among others. He has taught at Juilliard’s Pre-College division, at Princeton University and New York University and is on the violin faculty of the Mannes College of Music. He has collaborated with Mitsuko Uchida and Jessye Norman; and maintains an active commissioning project. Steinberg also enjoys an active solo and chamber music career. With pianist Mitsuko Uchida he has presented the complete Mozart sonata cycle on numerous occasions.
