Arthur Pryor (1870-1942)
One of the greatest trombone virtuosi, Arthur Pryor had relatively little importance as a composer, astonishing audiences by his performance, notably of his show-piece, his own version of The Blue Bells of Scotland. He toured with Sousas famous orchestra, and is now remembered principally for a small number of pieces.
