Mary Preston

Mary Preston had her early musical training in San Francisco, followed by study at Oberlin Conservatory and elsewhere, before her Master of Music degree from the University of North Texas and subsequent study at the Eastman School of Music. She is Resident Organist and Principal (The Lay Family Chair) with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra and Curator of the Lay Family Concert Organ in the Meyerson Symphony Hall. She also serves as Director of Worship and Artists Ministries and as Organist of King of Glory Lutheran Church in Dallas, where she has lived for nearly twenty years. Mary Preston's career has included recitals in America and abroad, notably at Notre Dame in Paris, St Nicholas in Leipzig, Merseburg Cathedral, St Hedwig Cathedral in Berlin, the Oliwa Cathedral in Poland and Yokohama, Japan, where she recently inaugurated a new instrument. She has been a featured artist in bath National and Regional Conventions of the American Guild of Organists and is a frequent broadcaster. Her concert engagements have included performances with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and the Dallas Wind Symphony, among others, and her recordings have won deserved critical acclaim.
