Lincoln Trio

Desirée Ruhstrat, violin
David Cunliffe, cello
Marta Aznavoorian, piano

The Lincoln Trio was formed in 2003 with violinist Desirée Ruhstrat, cellist David Cunliffe and pianist Marta Aznavoorian—each an internationally renowned performer. The trio has performed across the US including numerous appearances at the Ravinia Festival, Carnegie’s Weil Hall, the Indianapolis Symphony Beethoven Festival, Dame Myra Hess Memorial Concert Series, Music in the Loft, Sunday’s LIVE at LACMA in Los Angeles; and at Le Poisson Rouge. Their international tours have taken them to Singapore, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Germany and most recently a five-city tour of Colombia. The trio’s first full length recording, Notable Women, released on the Cedille label in 2011, has received numerous accolades including Texas Public Radio Classical Spotlighted album, WQXR/Q2 Music Album of the week, The Observer Hidden Gems of 2011, and it was listed by New Yorker magazine’s Alex Ross in his “Nightafternight playlist for summer’s end.” The Lincoln Trio were winners of the 2008 Masterplayers International Competition and a 2011 Young Performers Career Advancement Award.
