Glenn Basham has a B.M. degree from the North Carolina School of the Arts and an M.M. degree from Indiana University. Presently he is a member of the artist faculty at the University of Miami and has been the concertmaster of the Naples Philharmonic Orchestra since 1994. Previously he served as concertmaster of the Ft. Wayne Philharmonic and at numerous music festivals nationwide, including the Grand Teton Music Festival in Wyoming, the Colorado Music Festival, the Hot Springs Music Festival, and the Pine Mountain Music Festival. He played with the Detroit Symphony under Antal Dorati and was a member of the Chester String Quartet. He has appeared as soloist with a number of orchestras and serves as first violinist of the Bergonzi String Quartet. He has been on the editorial committee of American String Teacher and was a panelist for the 2001 International Association of Jazz Educators convention in New York City. He is actively involved with youth orchestras in Florida, giving workshops, master-lessons and performances.
