Erik Lundkvist (b1940)

Erik Lundkvist is one of Sweden's most outstanding players. He has been organist of Gustav Vasa Kyrkan in Stockholm since 1971. His extensive tours have taken him across Europe, Russia and the United States and he has appeared with well known conductors such as Antal Dorati, Gennady Rozhdestvensky, Zubin Mehta, and Leonard Slatkin. Erik Lundkvist has also been active for many years as a teacher, lecturer, and writer. He has recorded for EMI, Caprice, Proprius, Phono Suecia and other labels. In 1980 he won the Swedish gramophone record prize and in 1990 the French Grand Prix du Disque.
