Born in Milan, Andrea Mastroni studied in Cremona, winning a number of important prizes. He made his début as Ramphis and Ramses in Aida, singing Sarastro in Die Zauberflöte, Simone in Gianni Schicchi, Timur in Turandot, Figaro and Bartolo in Le nozze di Figaro, and the title rôles of Don Giovanni and Don Pasquale. In Genoa he sang Rossini’s Don Basilio, and the Father in Weill’s Die sieben Todsünden, participating in world premières of works by Lavagnino and Arnaboldi, and singing Pistol in Falstaff. Operatic and concert engagements have taken him to Paris, Brescia, Cremona, Como, Rimini, Milan, Turin and Florence, and, with La Scala’s Rigoletto, to Japan.
