The bass-baritone Ralf Grobe began his musical studies as a pianist at the Hanover Music and Theatre Hochschule, moving in 1993 for vocal training to Hamburg and undertaking engagements in opera and in recitals. He spent a year from 1997 to 1998 at the Manhattan School of Music in New York, where he won distinction, followed by collaboration in a series of important master-classes. Since the completion of his studies in Hamburg in 2000 he has enjoyed a busy free-lance career in concert and oratorio, with appearances in Europe and as far afield as Israel and Mexico.
