Henning Voss was born in 1967 and studied church music, organ and school music at the Lübeck Musikhochschule, continuing his training in organ and singing at the Academy for Early Music in Bremen and at the Hamburg Music and Theatre Hochschule, together with participation in various master-classes. He appears regularly with various specialist vocal ensembles and was a founder-member of the Himlische Cantorey. He has appeared in the principal oratorios of the Baroque period, as well as participating in performances and recordings of rarer works, and collaborating in a staging of Bachs cantatas at the Hamburg State Opera.
