Raquel Andueza

Raquel Andueza was born in Pamplona and began her musical training at the age of six, singing with the Niños Cantores de Navarra. She went on to study at the Pamplona Conservatory and then at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, from which she graduated in 2000, also being awarded the School Singing Prize. She attended masterclasses given by Emma Kirkby and Graham Johnson, among others, and is currently taught by Richard Levitt. She has worked with ensembles such as El Concierto Español, the Orquesta Barroca de Sevilla, the Lyra Baroque Orchestra of Minneapolis and Al Ayre Español.

A founder member of the vocal quintet La Trulla de Bozes (in 2000 awarded first prize at the Bruges Early Music Festival and winning the International Young Artists’ Presentation (Early Music) in Antwerp), she now appears regularly with the vocal and instrumental ensemble Los Músicos de Su Alteza, and since 2003 has been a member of the vocal quartet La Colombina. That same year, she and theorbist Jesús Fernández formed a duo specialising in seventeenth-century Italian music. Since 2004 she has sung with the group Orphénica Lyra, conducted by José Miguel Moreno.
