Born in 1966, Rainer Trost was for 10 years a member of the Stuttgart Hymnus Choirboys. His international career as a Mozart tenor began in earnest at the age of 26, singing Ferrando in Così fan tutte. He continued his studies from 1987 to 1991 with Adalbert Kraus, among others, and from 1991 to 1995 was a member of the Lower Saxony Hanover State Theatre. His career has continued with guest appearances throughout Europe, singing principal rôles in operas by Mozart and other major works of operatic repertoire.
