Lilian Moriani

The soprano Lilian Moriani was born in Brasilia, where she started her studies, continued with a São Paolo State award under Neyde Thomas. She completed her studies at the Madrid Escuela Superior de Canto with Isabel Penagos and Manuel Cid and participated in master-classes with Ileana Cotrubas, Maria Venuti, Paul Esswood, Gundula Janowitz and Thomas Quasthoff, in Stuttgart, Portugal and Salzburg. She has appeared as a soloist with leading orchestras in Spain, Portugal and Stuttgart, collaborating with distinguished conductors. She has partcipated in important festivals, including those of Estoril and of Lille, the Madrid Festival de Otoño, Austrian Mozart Festival and Stuttgart Bach Festival. In 1995 she was awarded the Salzburg prize as the most outstanding participant in the Mozarteum Summer Academy, and was invited to sing in the prize-winners’concert in the Grosse Saal of the Mozarteum. Her concert repertoire includes major works of Bach, Haydn, Mozart, Brahms and Saint-Saëns, with operas from Monteverdi to Mozart.
