Danish Radio Sinfonietta

As one of the Danish Broadcasting Corporation’s five ensembles the Danish Radio Sinfonietta is an active participant in Danish musical life. Danish music has a particular place in the orchestra’s heart, as can be heard in the many radio broadcasts, concerts and CDs the Orchestra produces every year. The Danish Radio Sinfonietta has been called "Denmark’s best Mozart orchestra", and the music of Vienna Classicism is in fact perfectly suited to the Orchestra’s size. For this very reason the Orchestra has begun on a happy collaboration with the conductor Adam Fischer, who has been engaged as principal conductor, especially with Vienna Classicism in mind. The Orchestra also has a strong commitment to the music of recent times: its recording of Vagn Holmboe’s collected chamber concertos with Hannu Koivula as conductor has aroused great attention both in Denmark and abroad.
