The oboist Arkadiusz Krupa was born in 1971 in the Polish town of Bielsko-Biala, where he received his first musical education. His many awards include, as a member of the Wind Quintet of Cracow Academy of Music, the first prize and distinction at the Polish Inter-Academy Competition of Chamber Music in Bydgoszcz in 1993, as a soloist the First Prize at the Nationwide Competition for Oboists and Bassoonists in Sieradz in 1996 and Second Prize at the Alexander Tansman International Competition of Musical Personalities in Lodz in 2000. Since December 1997 he has served as first oboist of the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra in Katowice, playing with this ensemble in many European countries as well as in Japan, and recording for the Polish Radio and foreign record companies. Since 1995 he has taught oboe at the Academy of Music in Cracow. His career, apart from solo activities, has brought a special interest in chamber music. For a number of years he has collaborated with the Warsaw Soloists Concerto Avenna and the chamber Sinfonietta Cracovia.
