Sebastien Lipman studied in Grenoble and Chicago, and in Paris, where he entered the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique. He obtained an Artist Diploma with high honours from Indiana University and first joined the Norwegian Radio Orchestra. At the age of 22 he joined the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, as solo tenured harpist, under Herbert von Karajan, performing there with the world’s leading conductors. He is now based in Australia at Brisbane and is lecturer in harp at the Queensland Conservatorium.
