Roberto Fabbriciani (b1949)

Roberto Fabbriciani was born in Arezzo and was, as a very young man, a member of the Orchestra of the Florence Maggio Musicale and of La Scala, Milan. An original interpreter and versatile artist, he has made innovations in flute technique, extending the possibilities of the instrument. He has appeared often at festivals including the Venice Biennale, Florence Maggio Musicale, Spoleto, Edinburgh, London, Paris, Lisbon, Granada, Madrid, Brussels, Lucerne, Salzburg, Vienna, Lockenhaus, Warsaw, Zagreb Biennale, Dubrovnik, St Petersburg, Donaueschingen, Cologne, Munich, Berlin, and Tokyo. He has appeared as a soloist with orchestras including the Orchestra of La Scala, Milan, the Accademia S. Cecilia in Rome, the Orchestras of RAI, the ECYO, Bavarian Chamber Orchestra, United Berlin, London Sinfonietta, London Symphony, RTL Luxembourg, BRTN Brussels, Orchestre Symphonique de la Monnaie, Cologne WDR, Baden-Baden SWF, the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin, Bavarian Radio, and the Munich Philharmonic, with conductors including Claudio Abbado, Luciano Berio, Bour, Chailly, Comissiona, Eötvös, Fedoseyev, Gavazzeni, Halffter, Maderna, Maag, Metzmacher, Muti, Peško, Sinopoli, Tamayo and Zagrosek. He has made numerous recordings for various radio and television organizations and recording companies.
