To date, the music directors of the orchestra have also included Antoni Ros Marbà (1967–1978, 1981–1986), Salvador Mas-Conde (1978–1981), Franz-Paul Decker (1986–1991), García Navarro (1991–1993), Lawrence Foster (1996–2002) and Ernest Martinez Izquierdo (2002–2006). Eiji Oue took over as music director in September 2006. Pablo González has been appointed as music director from September 2010. Christian Zacharias was the director of the Mozart Festival from 2002 until 2009. Throughout its history, the Orchestra has programmed numerous new productions and made a number of recordings, featuring works by Montsalvatge, Gerhard, Falla, D’Albert, Albéniz, Dohnányi, Bartók, Bizet, and others, collaborating with distinguished singers and performers, and winning three Latin Grammy Awards. There have been concert tours around Europe, Asia and the United States, and performances at some of the world’s best-known concert halls, including New York’s Carnegie Hall, as well as at popular international festivals such as the Proms in London’s Royal Albert Hall.
