The tenor Alessandro Codeluppi was born in 1971 in Milan, where he studied political science before starting his vocal training with Carlo Bergonzi and completing his musical formation at the Accademia Busseto and the Accademia Chigiana in Siena. He made his début as Telemaco in Monteverdi’s Il ritorno d’Ulisse in patria. Guest appearances followed in leading European opera houses and festivals, among them as Ferrando in Mozart’s Così fan tutte in 1999 in Ferrara under Claudio Abbado. In the same year he was a prize-winner in the international Cicolo Lirico G.Verdi di Reggio Emilia competition, after earlier triumph in the Tito Schipa competition in Lecce. His repertoire includes rôles in operas from Mozart to Massenet, as well as Lieder cycles and Masses. In 2001 he made his début at the Pesaro Rossini Opera Festival in Il turco in Italia.
