Opera Lafayette is a period instrument ensemble based in Washington, D.C., dedicated to performances of seventeenth- and eighteenth-century operas, particularly the French repertoire. Since its début in 1995, Opera Lafayette has garnered both critical acclaim and a loyal following for its concert and staged opera productions with well-known American and international artists. The Washington Post characterized the ensemble as “one of the most intellectually exciting fixtures of the Washington music world”.
