The Oxford Camerata was founded in 1984 by Jeremy Summerly. The Camerata has toured all over Europe and has made twenty-seven CD recordings for Naxos. The Camerata has had a series of patrons, including Sir Peter Pears, who was their first patron, and Lord Bullock. Considered to be one of the finest ensembles of its kind, the Oxford Camerata has received many great honors, including being honored by the Fördergemeinschaft der EuropÀischen Wirtschaft in 1995.
