Vitězslav ZAVADILÍK after his studies at the conservatoire in Kroměříž graduated from the Janáček Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts (prof. Moravec and Sykora). For many years he was a member of the Trávníček Quartet, which was a laureate of numerous musical competitions. He is a winner of the Interpretation Competition (1975, 1984). In 1979 he became the 1st Prize Winner of "Premio Vittorio Gui Competition" in Firenze and two years later a holder of F.Liebstoeckel Prize in Colmar. In 1994 he took the position in the Janáček Quartet to replace his teacher, prof. A.Sýkora.
Ladislav KYSELÁK in 1976 graduated from the Brno Conservatoire and entered AMU (Academy of Arts) in Prague. Three years later he won a national viola competition, took part in the Competition on the Isle of Man (1980) and became a laureate of the Portsmouth Music Competition (1981) in the category of the string quartets. Between 1986-1989 he taught at the conservatoire in Pardubice and in the period 1986-89 he has been a position of a leader of viola group of the Slovak Philharmonic Orchestra. Since 1989 he has been a member of the Jana?ek Quartet. He is also active as a viola lecturer at JAMU. He recorded a whole series of recordings for radio, TV, CDs.
Břetislav VYBÍRAL at the age of 9 won a cello competition in Usti nad Orlici and two years later he became the winner of this prestigious competition again. In 1967 he won the International Competition Concertino Praga (chamber music category). After graduation from the conservatoire in Brno he studied at JAMU. In the time of his studies he won the violoncello competition Beethoven's Hradec. Since 1980 he has been the concertmaster of the Jana?ek Opera House in Brno and member of the Janáček Quartet.
