Richard Todd

Internationally renowned concert, jazz and recording artist Richard Todd has earned acclaim as one of the finest horn soloists today. From the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra to Birdland, Todd is the leader in a new generation of horn artists. Gold medal winner of the 1980 Concours Internationale Toulon, he is a Pro Musicis International Foundation Award winner and is continually expanding the boundaries of the horn world. He has performed under the batons of such luminaries as Bernstein, Giulini, Marriner, Abravanel, Ozawa, Rilling and Schuller. A rigorous schedule includes his position as principal horn with the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra, recitals and solo engagements in the United States and abroad, work in the film industry (over 1,000 soundtracks,) on classical recordings, in appearances as a jazz artist in concerts and recordings, and in his own busy recording career. Deeply committed to arts education, Todd is on faculty at the University of Southern California and the Henry Mancini Institute.
