Giordano Bellincampi is principal conductor of the Copenhagen Philharmonic Orchestra, having been principal guest conductor since January 1997. In 1997-2000 he was also principal conductor of . Giordano Bellincampi was born in Rome in 1965, but has lived in Denmark since 1976. He trained at the Royal Danish Academy of Music in bass trombone, and in conducting with Jorma Panula. Giordano Bellincampi has had an active career as an orchestral musician, for example in the Royal Danish Orchestra. In August 1994 he made his debut as a conductor with the kunstner 1153 Odense Symphony Orchestra> and he has subsequently regularly conducted all the Danish orchestras. He is also much in demand abroad and has conducted in among other countries Sweden, Norway, Italy and Russia. In 1997 he made his debut as an opera conductor at the Danish National Opera in Aarhus and in 2000 at the Royal Theatre, Copenhagen. For Dacapo Giordano Bellincampi has recorded Vagn Holmboe’s Ten Preludes with Athelas Sinfonietta Copenhagen, H.C. Lumbye’s works with the Tivoli Symphony Orchestra, Weyse’s The Sleeping-Draught with the href="http://www.dacapo-records.dk/?page=artist&id=1084&typemask=1" target="_blank">Danish Radio Concert Orchestra, orchestral works by Poul Schierbeck with the Odense Symphony Orchestra and by Fini Henriques with the Helsingborg Symphony Orchestra.
