Update me on new releases by Bourdoncle

Michel Bourdoncle (b1960)

Born in Marseille in 1960, Michel Bourdoncle started his musical career with Jacqueline Courtin and Bernard Flavigny at the Conservatoire d’;Aix-en-Provence. He studied at the Paris Conservatoire, winning first prizes in chamber music and piano in the classes of Geneviève Joy and Dominique Merlet, before continuing his studies under Jean Hubeau. His meeting with Carlos Roque Alsina in 1984 introduced him to a new approach to contemporary music, resulting in a major award in the Acanthes International Competition under Iannis Xenakis. In 1986 and 1987 he studied at the Moscow Conservatory with distinguished teachers, continuing his studies, on his return, under Alfredo Neuman. He enjoys a threefold career as a concert performer, a Conservatoire professor and artistic director of the Nuits Pianistiques d’Aix-en-Provence Festival. Michel Bourdoncle has been awarded the Ville d’Aix-en-Provence and Assemblée Nationale medals for his artistic activity.
