Keith Brion (b1933)

Keith Brion is a frequent conductor of light music orchestral concerts with major and regional orchestras throughout America and internationally and leads his own New Sousa Band. He is a former conductor of the Yale University Band. He first met Alan Hovhaness in 1964 and began recording his wind music in 1969 with the composer present. He has given premières of several Hovhaness wind works, including the band version of The Prayer of St Gregory, and has recorded all the Hovhaness wind symphonies, including an additional volume of Hovhaness with the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama Wind Orchestra (Naxos 8.559207).
