Andrey Bielov was born on 31st December 1981 in Khmielnizkiy, in Ukraine, into a musical family and had his first violin lessons at the Music School there at the age of five, followed by schooling in Kiev, where his gifts were recognised and fostered by Michael Kuzniezov, who took him into his own family and devoted himself to the task of training him as a violinist from the age of eleven. Even as a child, Andrey Bielov appeared in concerts in the Ukraine, Russia, Poland, the United States and Germany and won considerable success in competitions, including those at Kloster Schöntal and the Kotorvich Competition. He was supported by a scholarship from the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation and chosen to play for the American President Clinton. Since 1997, when he was fifteen, he has studied with Krszysztof Wegrzyn at the Hanover Hochschule für Musik und Theater. With an extensive virtuoso repertoire he enjoys an active concert career, with competition prizes at Leverkusen in 1998, Munich in 1999, second prize in the International Città di Brescia Competition and the Joseph Joachim Competition in
