Update me on new releases by Voigt

Christian Voigt

Born in Berlin, the tenor Christian Voigt studied there with Heinz Reeh and Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau and in 1995 was prize-winner in the Sixth International Mozart Competition in Salzburg. He completed master courses with Peter Schreier, Josef Protschka, Kurt Equiluz amd Wolfram Rieger. He has appeared with conductors that include Nikolaus Harnoncourt, Helmuth Rilling, Philippe Herreweghe and Michael Schoenwandt, with leading orchestras in Europe, and in major concert halls. He has a concert and Lieder repertoire that ranges from Bach to Mahler, with some three hundred songs. In opera he feels great affinity with the work of Mozart, but has also appeared in rôles such as that of Lenski in Eugene Onegin and the Steersman in The Flying Dutchman. His recordings include collaboration in the Schubert/Denisov Lazarus and in Schumann’s Scenes from Faust.
