Malcolm Riley

Born in 1960 in Northallerton, Malcolm Riley's won an organ scholarship to Christ's College, Cambridge in 1978.After his graduation he taught for three years in Bristol before being appointed Director of Music at Cranbrook School in 1985. He has been Music Director of Cranbrook Choral since 1987. Apart from teaching and performing, Malcolm Riley is also a composer and arranger of choral and chamber music, and is a regular contributor to The Gramophone. He published a biography of composer Percy Whitlock in 1998 and recorded a disc of Whitlock's light orchestral music with the RTE Light Orchestra in Dublin for the Marco Polo label.
